Stepping mast on an Oday 26

I just purchased an Oday 26 and I am interested to know how other 26 owners step and unstep the mast other than having it done in the yard. I have been sailing a 1984 Oday 23 since 1988 and my boat hauler and I have been able to accomplish that task without any additional help by removing the boom, releasing the forestay and lowering aft to the stern rail. Has anyone tried this method with the 26?

Yep

I've done it by lowering forward. Recommend having at least three people helping to ease it down. Worked fine for me.

Mast Raising

I have a '85 O'day 26 and I raise and lower the mast almost single handed. I use the boom as a gin pole and use the mainsheet to raise and lower. Works great

Randy would it be possible to get details on your setup like stabilizing the boom, how the lines are led, winch use? Thanks.
