Stepping a mast?

I have a Ranger 26 and I would like to know if the mast can be lowered by manual labor or does it have to be lifted professionally? Any help with an answer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.Mike

It can be done manually

See attached link. The Ranger 26 has the same set up as the Pearson 26. Very easy to do. The hardest part is setting up the ladder.
