I just bought a 1985 27 lancer power sailer and the engine steering is not hooked up to anything. is there a cable suppost to be there and tied to the rudder????????????????????????????????????????

The engine may just be locked in place leaving you to rely on the rudder for steering.

I understand that but there nothing at the engine to hold it in a lock straight ahead and im looking for the parts to order

What is the make / size / year of the engine? I hoped that BrianD would pick up this question, but he must be busy. This is a link to his site. He has a nice stern photo, but I didn't see any evidence of linkage from the engine to the rudder.

1985 johnson 90hp and i see he has trim tabs which i have seen the back of other 27 and the have a fixed trim tab
