Steering System 1983 Hunter 31

Can anyone confirm that the steering system on the '83 Hunter 31 is an Edson? or is it some other brand? I need to service my steering system and I can't get to the boat to check it and I would like to order a rebuild kit. Any help out there?

Your boat being an 83, unless Hunter used different suppliers for different boats, chances are the steering system is a Merriman Yacht Specialty. Unfortunately out of business since the late 80s. Hence no rebuild kits available, but the good news is depending on what you need it can probably be repaired. You'll need to provide more info and folks here should be able to help. Pics also help. Claude you are indeed correct it it is a Merriman we will open her and service her and if we need some tips on repairing something I will be back for answers from this group. Thanks.
