I have a 1986 Hunter 34'. It has the Merriman steering pedestal. I recently had a mechanic over to change a throttle cable and he broke the collor on the pedestal where the gear shifter / throttle attach. Merriman has gone out of business. Does anybody have this part for this pedestal or know of where I could get it? I really could use some help before I am forced to replace the whole pedestal.

Check the archives

There have been several discussions about this, and at least one current source was given.

Alternative solution

I am not sure what exactly the broken part looks like, but I have had an obsolete broken part, a gear, in an old piece of office equipment that I had rebuilt by the shop class at a local trade school. In other words, its amazing what a local shop can build. Its another possible alternative.
