Another option
I had the same part (made of plastic) fail on a month long cruising vacation. I did not want to replace the original plastic with plastic or something else that was not metal so I called Edson and was able to completely eliminate the plastic piece.Edson has a bracket that replaces the junk and allows mounting of a housing that will hold a single handle (throttle and shift together) Morse shifter. The unit mounts along side the pedestal and was one of the best improvements we ever made to the boat.Cost was under $300 and replaced the shifter cables too. The original plastic piece is a real weak part of the system and there are a lot that are failing. I had to add a full length ped guard since I had a short one.Call Edson and they will help you with parts and advice. You will not believe how great the system works.I did the conversion in three days - called Edson, got the parts the next day and installed, then rested for one day.Another bonus is the first mate will have no trouble handling docking.Picture attached. The new shifter/throttle is on the starboard side of the ped.
