I put one coat of Interlux 2000 over the keel in the spring. I did this because it had many (80) spots of rust. I sanded the spots cleaned with acetone and filled with a 2 part epoxy. A final sanding and then put the one coat of Interlux followed with a VC 17 antifoul. Yesterday we hauled out and the keel was perfect. I expect that I will have to repeat the process every 3-4 years but it's not really much work when you think about it. Materials and paint cost about $25.00.Any comments about steel keels...
