I HAVE BEEN TRYING WITHOUT SUCCESS TO LOCATE A SUPPLIER OF THE REAR RAIL PULPITS WITH THE SEATS INCORPORATED IN THE RAILS. THE ORIGIONAL SUPPLIER TO HUNTER, SOUTHCOAST MARINE, IS UNABLE TO RESPOND TO MY REQUEST. HAS ANYONE HAD THESE MADE WITH SUCCESS? MY BOAT IS A 1990 HUNTER G, THE 30T IN 93 AND 94 HAD THESE INSTALLED AAT THE FACTORY. THANKS

Tops-in-quality!

Jim: Try Tops-in-quality in MI. They can make them or modify yours. The real cost here is going to be transportation. www.topsinquality.com Did you contact Hunter? PS: UPPER CASE IS CONSIDERED YELLING. but we can hear you. Good Luck!

seats

There used to be a co. called Stern Perch, I think they were based out of Texas. Try doing a web search using that name.

Re rail seats

Stainless Outfitters in Barrie Ontario Canada can do them. I have spoke to them at the Toronto Boat Show in previous years. You have to take your rails off and ship them to their plant and they will modify thr rails and return to you. best done over the winter. 1 800-268-0396 or 705-725-1779 www.stainlessoutfitters.com Good luck Rob

back stays

I would be interested to know the result of your enquiry. I have a 1990 30 and wonder how the seats would work since the back stays run where the seat normally would go. Later models with the seats have the back stays mounted further down the transom and therefore do not interfer with the seats. Check on the HOW home page and follow the link "In our Chandery" to "cockpit" and then "stern rail seats" There is a picture of the seats you can order. My back stays are mounted further up then in this picture. I emailed this supplier and they said they would fit but I don't think so. Please post your comments on how this relates to your 30'

backstay interferience

Ive noticed on some of the later catalina's at our marina, the backstay runs right in front of the seats, I noticed that also. Ive taken so many pictures of seats on other boats, im convinced the manufacterers did not take this into consideration. Thanks

backstay

Fred, i also have a 1990 H30 and have gone through the same thought process. The easiest option would be to relocate the backstay further aft which would be fairly simple by getting a rigger to make up a couple of stay extensions. I am also thinking of moving my backstay when i am ready for my next mainsail replacement in order to maximize the roach since the boat needs the extra sail area.
