Crazy Dave (and list),Well, I took the rub rail off the stern up to the curve (of my 1999 H260) and everything seems pretty ship shape. There were two screw holes with out screws (appeared to have been stripped, so not used). The seam looked solid with no cracks, gaps or anything else. I cleaned up and put caulk in all the screw holes and put it all back together.The rub rail screws seem to be located such that if they were drilled deep enough, they would break out through the curved lip that is formed into the hull/deck joint, still outside of the hull, and not allowing water to penetrate into the boat. The other potential problem areas I still have to check back there are the motor mount bolts, lower rudder post mount, and maybe the swim ladder mount. With all the rain we are getting here in the northeast, I won't even have to get the hose out!Fair winds,Tom

take the back wall in the rear berth off and you look while someone is using a hose. Go from one fitting to another one at the time. If nothing, get about four well heavy set persons on the back end of the boat and double chech the transom joint. If all fails, go up on deck in the cockpit where that portion of the floor is screwedd down and take them thar screws out and reseal them with caulking. Now put a bead of white silicon and I suggest the West Marine brand on that seam of the deck that is screwed down to the cockpit. That seams to be a cure there as sometimes those screws leake and water flows down the inner liner above and down to the back of the boat.Crazy Dave Condon

Mystery solved...

I think! Took off the aft bulk head and got a good look at the back side of all the hardware coming through. All the bolts have globs of sealer on them from when they were installed.Placed a layer of paper towels across the locker (behind the bulkhead area), and sprayed the fittings down with a garden hose from the outside: Outboard braket, rudder mount, ladder, rubrail and bilge pump exit. Even shot some water up the pipe pump tube. All dry. Then sprayed inside the lazzarett area (under the center stern seat) and found that the caulk around the stern light wire feed through didn't have a good seal. Inside the same trickle lines and water puddles appeard, and I could see water running down the wire. So, problem solved (I Hope). I have been hit from the stern with wakes large enough to put water in there, but it doesn't happen that often. Otherwise, that area is well above the water line and well protected from rain. Anyway, it has been cleaned and carefully recaulked.While in there, I tested the seam in the cockpit sole and that is tight, as far as I could tell looking and feeling up there, which isn't easy.Almost ready to launch!Fair winds...Tom
