Steaming and Anchor Light Bulbs

I have a 1984 Hunter 34 that is relatively new to me. Both the steaming and anchor lights are inop. Assuming I have the "standard" lights (if there was such a thing), can anyone tell me what bulb is used in each of these fixtures?

I'd like to have replacements on hand for the next time someone goes up the mast. I also plan to check for possible wiring problems before sending someone up.

There should be a wiring disconnect at the base of your mast . I would disconnect the wires at that point and check the wiring from your battery and switch to the mast base using a multimeter. I would then get a 12 volt battery and probe the wires at the mast base going up to the lights to see if anything works. You should be able to isolate the problem from the deck and perhaps save a trip up the mast.

Unfortunately you need to lift the mast on the H34s to get at the connection (unless there is a opening and cover plate installed as I did patterned after Fred Ficarra's.http://www.epitomesrebuild.com/

Going up the mast is probably easier- I cant remember what the bulbs are- I remember I bought mine at an auto parts store.

The bulbs are probably the same as on my boat; '86 H31. ANCOR "single contact bayonet base bulb." Trade #1383.

On my 1990 Hunter 33.5, the Spreader lights and Steaming Light all use a Perko M/ 1331-DPOCHR bulb. It was W. M. #297376. They were a Festoon 10W Fig. 71 type bulb. Hope this helps.
