Hey guys, my first post here...
I'm looking to buy a C30 for club racing (50%), day sailing (40%), and heading to the local islands (10%). Many years, and several boats ago, I had a 1980 C30 and loved it.
I sail out of Long Beach and San Pedro where summer afternoons typically see 15-20 knts.
In those conditions, I remember weather helm being a bit of an issue with the C30.
Back in the day, there was a C30 named Rosenante, with a standard mast and bowsprit that just kicked butt. I always thought this configuration made good sense because it moved the CE forward without adding too much sail area.
But I haven't seen a C30 with this config since.
What are you're thoughts on the standard mast-bowsprit configuration?
Any other things I should consider when looking for a C30 to race?
Thanks,
