I just started my excursion into the bay today. I left the dock late, about 1L-- p.m. There was a ton of tasks for me to do before I could head out. --pause....just figured out that it is time to put up the mosquito net--

Of course the wind was nil for most of my trip so far. I did manage to catch two rockfish (stripers) while trolling past Cobb Island and St. Clements Island. I caught them going 4.6 knots and motoring. They lived because they were a bit small that I wanted to deal with.

I am anchored in Breton bay tonight. Just had the wind drop off totally and I am doing rotations around my anchor. Joy oh Joy! Add to this the fact that my galley sink is not draining well at all (this means that I need to go swimming tomorrow to clean off the through hull).

Tomorrow is a short day and I intend to stop prior to Point Lookout. The weather isn't the best, as forecast, but I can deal with it. Just hope I don't get caught out in a storm!

Picking up the wife this weekend in Solmons and Hopefully heading North!

Dinghy air pump into sink drain. No overboard swim, unless it's hot out.

Darn, ya didn't tell us you were leaving. :)

Expect issues - it's a boat. You have crammed a bedroom, a kitchen, a bathroom, a living room, an entertainment center, navigation equipment, safety equipment, storage, fuel and water tanks into a space the size of a walk in closet. You are going to have some issues here and there.

Just keep the bottom of your feet UP and you'll be fine.

higgs's closet example still works in that position.

Stay dry...:)

I made it to the Coan River today. I did go swimming but found d another way to clean out the clogged through hull.

I caught two fish trolling on the way down here. One of them was 25 inches. I named that one dinner.

Tomorrow should be a good day and I should have favorable winds to sail to Solomons Island.

I found crab pots all through the channel into the Coan. When going to the anchorage I encountered a bunch of pvc pipes stuck into the bottom. I have no idea what they are there for. I tried to avoid them and ended up in some very skinny water. I wonder if I can go between them. Any thoughts on this?

Jim, Had I known, I love to paint bottoms! :D

Matt, You are down in some of my favorite places.

Matt, Jim, Are you all thinking about racing in the Governor's Cup - Potomac Leg? In addition the Potomac Yacht Racing Council is starting back up and over half the races are down in your neck of the woods. Ray

Probably should not be there. Not the first time I have seen pots in a channel. Wish I had gotten a picture of the one that a crabber left right in the middle of our marina entrance.

I've never seen so many crab pots encroaching on channels as this spring. Enjoy Solomons-one of my favorite stops.

I had a beautiful sail into the Pax River. The win was at 12 out of the south by south east. I was doing almost 5 knots against a fast outgoing tide.

Solomons Island is a jem of the Bay.
