starting battery for beneteau first 32.5 1989

In my 89 Beneteau First 32.5 I have one battery in the battery compartment. It seems that there is not enough space for a starting battery. Does anyone have any suggestions for a battery that would fit in that space next to my other battery that is in front of the engine. I have all the wires for a second battery but I can't find a small enough battery to fit in the space. The battery I currently have is a Group 24 marine battery. Can I use a car battery for a starting battery?

Batteries

Car battery is what you need to start the engine. You cannot use a leisure battery as they do not have a high enough cold cranking capability. Our 323 has two batteries in front of the engine and a third under the aft cabin bed. A smallish car battery would work.
