Starter YSB 12

Pretty much have decided my intermittent starter issue is not related to the wiring, so it appears its time to pull the starter and rebuild or replace it. Has anyone had experience with pulling and replacing the starter on a YSB 12.

Just how much heart ache should I expect if I undertake this job myself.

Piece Of Cake But The Price Isn't

This was about a ten minute job. Couple of wires and and two bolts. It took longer to remove the pannels than the starter.
Did this on my '79 Hunter 30' with YSM12. #104211 is the part number

The replacement price knocked my socks off. I would price this out at a Tractor Supply store as the Yamar francise in Rock Hall was over $500 with tax, if I remember the price.

The replacement was a Hitachii or something similiar in name

Any auto electric shop can test and repair your starter. I think mine was about $15.00. Lot more than ten minutes on a 2QM20 however.
