Starter Motor Battery Stud

I have a Yanmar 3JH2E engine, and want to order a new cable for my starter motor. Problem is my boat is 300 miles away and I do not know the stud size for the battery connection on the starter motor (solenoid). Can anyone help? Thanks.

usually 3/8 on the positive and 5/16 on the negative

Thanks for the reply. I have edited my original post to clarify that I am looking for the stud size of the battery connection on the starter motor.

Still not clear; are you talking about the stud on the starter solenoid or the battery post The solenoid terminals are usually M8 X 1.25. and marine battery (+) terminals are 3/8.

Thanks Benny. I am talking about the solenoid stud, and I thought it might be M8 (didn't think it was as large as the 3/8 battery post).
