Starter information

I am under the impression thet the starter for the XP 25 diesel has a Kubota tractor block and that the starter is much cheaper if purchased from the Kubota Tractor people. Does any one have the part number or info on this topic. A new one from Universal is $500.00 plus and I find that ridiculous. Thanks, WILL

Bill,Last year I had to replace the solenoid on the starter at a whopping price of $170.00. When this didn't fix the problem, I removed the whole assembly and brought it too my local starter rebuild shop where the problem was solved for short money. He advised that I not go through a "marine" parts replacment for the starter as the parts were readily available through any starter rebuilder. Hope this helps. Good luckTim
