Spray starch

I have a friend that uses spray starch to deal with Mud Dobbers and like unwanted insects rather than insect repelants due to smell/allergy issues. Just maybe, there are two like minded folks in the sailing world...

Not so silly, really. I use it to lube the speed thru-hull transducer. That my excuse for having it aboard, anyway.

Maybe the belts on the engine were squeeling? Spraying slipping, noisy fan belts with starch used to be a quick fix back in the day. Or was it hairspray? It's been so long...

Very simple Mud Dabbers do not like starch! Most people just use dryer sheets .....
