Starbord cabin lights out and mast light out.

I have checked the fuses behind the electrical panel and on the nave station and the fuses on the front of the nav station. I have one bulb that is out but that does not stop the rest from not working and all the starboard cabin lights do not work. I have looked at the wiring specks but have not found any clues as to why they are out. A few weeks ago I spilt water on the wiring harness that is in the engine compartment and goes to the engine from the cockpit instrument panel and fried a couple of wires. I have since fixed that and we have been sailing and motoring fine. We were out last night and I noticed the mast light out that is part of the way up the mast. I think it is part of the running lights. I will find out but I thought I would include that info incase it might help. My next steep is to trace the wires to the starboard cabin lights and find the problem that way. I thought there may be something obvious I might be over looking. This is not a big deal but if I am over looking something simple I could be wasting a good bit of time. I’ll be sailing in the MBYC to OSYC race on another boat this weekend but will get back to this little problem this coming week. My wife and I have had some good fun sailing this boat around San Diego Harbor and learning seamanship since we got it a few months ago and we have fixed up a lot of little things with help from this forum, thanks to you all. Go thru it again

If your panel is like mine 87' there is nothing organized about it other than they used a lot of black elect tape to wrap up the wires. If only one side is out check the connections at the switchpanel it may have fallen off there. The light halfway up the mast could be either the deck and/or steaming light. Depending on the year of your boat there is a terminal block inside the mast at the base which you can get to thru the turning blocks at the base of the mast(if you have internal halyards). Check there for prolbems, use your voltage tester there before going up the mast.... BTW where's OSYC??

OSYC is my mistake it is OceanSide

yacht Club, I was guessing at the name, it is OYC (http://www.oceansideyc.com/). Our boat is a 1983 Catalina 30. I checked the connections at the panel but will go through it again. Could be the switch. The mast light could very well be a steaming light. I do have a switch on the panel for that. My sorry seaman ship skills show here. CW
