Garhauer Marine sells them. It's not in their catalog. I replaced 3 that bent from snow loads over the winter. $80.00. They are the same ones used on the C32. It's not a hard install and gives you experience to rebed the other 5 :). Send them a picture before you buy one. They need to know the height.
Hi Bob
Do you have a 310 now? Your info shows a Catalina 30
Just curious. I haven't looked at my info page in years...

Doctorsail: Thanks very much. Nuts and washers came out just fine. They were reinserted and I'm waiting for the sealant to dry. Great idea!

Big Issue. One bolt in the toe rail came out just fine. The other remains firmly in place. I managed to turn it 1/2 turn, with much effort. I then decided on the brut force method. Put a #3 Phillips bit in a socket handle pushed down and rotated it another 1/2 turn with lots of effort when it just stopped. I was sweating heavily and my palms were dripping wet. (It gets hot on a sunny deck in Florida in August). I tried torquing it again. My hand slipped off where I was applying pressure to the bit and the bit backed out and stripped the head. I have no idea why the thing won't back out.

Anyone have any ideas?

Gahauer says they don't make the stepped base stanchions on the 310

Well I obtained a manual impact driver and had at it. After several minutes of whacking, I managed to move the remaining stanchion bolt exactly 1/4 turn. This one goes into the toe rail and threads into an aluminum plate bonded in the structure.

Anyone have any other ideas?

I claim victory.

After some prayer, deep contemplation, positive thoughts, and a bigger hammer, I managed to move the bolt another 1/4 turn. It then unscrewed and has been removed from the boat.

The sobering thought is: That was the easy part. I now must install the new stanchion. Perhaps this weekend if it doesn't thunderstorm as forecast.

JK: Thank you very much for the suggestion of the manual impact driver. Much, much, much better than drilling the thing out.

Great news. Glad my suggestion was able to help!

I hate drilling out stainless and avoid it at all costs. Now remember to put Tef-gel or lanacote on the bolts before you put them back in to avoid this problem in the future.

I have Tef-gel. Used it when I attached the track to the mast for the whisker pole. I think the bolt was epoxied in. I'm going to run a 1/4 - 20 tap down to dress the threads on the aluminum plate before I do anything else.
