I have read differing advice for replacing the starboard gate stanchion on a 30' 1988 Catalina. Should I cut a hole or have I not looked well enough for the forward foot bolt/nut in the toe rail? I can find the aft bolts/nuts. If we have to cut a hole how long should it take to cut/remove/replace? or should we just leave it alone and let it be bent?
