Hi Mike, I'm not that familiar with your boat...

I'm assuming that your stantions have only one hole at the top for the life line? Also, that the pulpit does not have a place to attach a lower life line? If your boat was designed for one, why do you want to add a lower life line? Yes, you can drill holes and replace the pulpit with one that has attach points for a lower one, but why? Was dual life lines a part of your boat buying criteria? Just curious. If safety is a concern, that is, staying with the boat when conditions get rough, perhaps a self inflating life vest with built in safety harness, with tether and jack lines, would be more suitable. This would offer more personal protection that a lower life line, IMHO. Terry

How about netting?

I too have a 76 h30, and yes they only had one top life line, as do alot of boats. I have children aboard and I added lifeline netting from the lifeline to the toe rail. If you look in one of the marine suppliers catalogs, they used to make a ring that you could slip over the stanchions to add another line. I also made new stanchions that mounted on the toe rail and that has made going forward much easier, and thus safer. You can walk up outboard of the rigging and not have to step up and around them. It's a great boat, we really like ours. Royce
