I am preparing to replace my standing rigging this winter. Can anyone recommend a good rigging shop to do this for me? It does not need to be in the Portland area but it would make things a little easier. I will have the existing rigging in hand shortly. I saw that Sailnet does this but I have no experience with them. Any and all info is appreciated. Tim

I had them make new life lines for me. They even made recommendations about the pelican hooks that I had not thought of. Very good service and they don't charge an arm and a leg for shipping.

When I ordered a new backstay on a Monday, I was told there were about 10 orders in front of mine. I mentioned that I was hoping to get the boat in the water in the next two weeks - the backstay was on my front porch Wednesday. The guy who took my order went back and made it up after he got off the phone with me. Orders over $100 ship free, I believe. A couple of times when I have exchanged or returned items, they have gone out of their way to make certain I was satisfied.

You may want to consider PBO in place of steel cable. Its stronger, lighter, stretches less and is easier to use. It's what the big ocean racers are using.

standing rigging cost?
Anybody with a rough idea of the cost to replace standing rigging on a Hunter 28.5? H28.5: 2 spreader I = 37.3ft. I see Catalina direct offers a complete standing rigging kit for CAT25 tall (single spreader I=31ft) for $342. If this is indicative, $500 for the H28.5?
