The shrouds on each side of my H35 attach to a plate on deck which somehow further connects to a rod which is tied into the boat's grid system. The mast is currently unstepped. I'd like to rebed the plate on deck, but don't know how to remove it. It has four, large, phillips head screws/bolts which heads are visible on deck. How do I remove the plate? Rich

Rich it's easy.

If it's like my H34, that is. After the screws are removed just put a big wrench on the plate and start turning (counterclockwise) Be sure to count the number of turns. I would scribe a hash mark on paper after each turn. And for bedding, use lots of masking tape. But the sloppy mess is sooo good. :)

Consider butyl tape for bedding

Rich: Consider using butyl tape for rebedding the chain plates. This is the same type of stuff that is used to seal windows. I think you can get it in different sizes and thickness. They may also have it in different colors. Check with a window shop.
