Beneteau 311 Rocky River
Recently purchased a 2000 Beneteau 311 and had a question on the upper shrouds vs lower.

I have seen pictures with the lower back on the deck and the upper forward also I have seem pics of the opposite ..... Which one is correct??

This is the first time I've put the mast up and I'm not sure about this ??

Purchased boat and was hauled here so it was not rigged

If its like my 323, the shroud attachment points on the deck are so close to one another that I really don't think it make much difference. In my case, I have attached the lower shrouds aft and the main shrouds forward. I never saw anything in the owner's manual that indicated any preference. Perhaps other owners have a more definitive answer.

The manual is less than clear on this point however it appears that the lower shroud is attached aft. I had a lot of work of work done to my boat several month ago (hit by lightening last summer) and mine are attached the opposite way upper to the aft. I just looked at it the boat and that appears (at least to me) the correct way. So I guess I don't know either.

I have a 2002 311. I am guessing it had very little attention before we purchased 2 years ago. Our lower shrouds are aft.
