Does anyone know of a standard form for an Offer to Purchase a used boat from an individual? I've seen standard forms for real estate, and I wonder if such a thing exists for boats. If a broker was involved he/she would presumably provide one, but this is buyer/seller only. Thanks in advance.

It's called a Purchase Agreement...

I've never seen a standard form, but I'll be glad to send you a copy of the one I drew up when I sold my boat if you'd like to e-mail me. I'm in the directory.

Bill of Sale

Go to your local office supply store and get a standard "Bill of Sale". Fill in the blanks. Attached additional pages if needed (like to list included other equipment such as those 3 extra jibs, foul weather gear, assorted blocks, pins etc etc.) You get the picture.

Purchase

You can write an agreement on a dirty hankerchief,it is only as good as the two people invovled. The FBI cant even get Mcviegh with all there nonsense. You dont even need a regular form to register the boat. Just say as is and make it a fire job to lower the state tax Id say more but it could get me involved.

Check out the Coast Guard's site, as they have a purchase agreement form that we've used before. It should be in PDF format and prints quite nicely. And FREE! LaDonna

US Coast Guard Site

As stated before, the Coast Guard has a great site for the standard purchase agreement (accepted if you need a mortgage on vessel), as well as forms for documentation, should you desire. Check it out at the link listed below.
