Has anyone replaced a stanchion on their O'Day 25? I bent one. I ordered the closest thing I could find, a Shaefer 36-01 base. It's very close, but it's canted in 5 degrees. The original is either canted out or straight. It doesn't look right. Shaefer does not seem to make the stanchions that came on the boat anymore.

I have and like the new Shaefer Better.
I bought my boat with a broken stanchion and bought the new style. The new stanchion has a base that is welded with a sleeve and the post fits inside. 36-08 has the same foot so it required no new holes. You can find them at West Marine 2006 catolog Page # 853. r.w.landau
