Does anyone know where i can get two stansions for my 27' o'day? I have gone through two sets ( willing to trade) but i need to find these bc my kids can't come on till they are up. I am also wondering about any cheap foam for new cushion ideAs and best way to waterproof v birth to be safe. The boat was given to us in bad shape, but is still a dreeam come true but we dont have a budget of much to work with. I am disabled and hubby works hard as bartender. So any ideas on how to make our dream happen without sinking our life would bengreat.

Could you clarify? Not sure about the statement, "have gone through two sets". Also, what do you mean by waterproof the v birth.
Congratulations on the boat!

By two sets i mean, we have had two different stanchions that were 21" high but the angle was not correct for our deck. Right now i have threee useless stanchions on boared. By waterproofing, i mean is there like a gel coat or something to create a good seal inside. The boat is 35 and i just want to give her a lil help staying dry.

Hope this helps...and thank you very much

You can call Rudy at 1-508-644-3001 D&R Marine. I purchased mine through him. D&R is all things O'Day.

you have only 2 options for keeping it dry.... one of them is to never remove the tarp from it.
the only other way has a bit more effort involved. you need to remove all the deck hardware, clean all the old sealer from it, clean it all with acetone, apply new sealer and reattach it.....
depending on what all you have attached, this can usually be all done in less than a day with 2 or 3 people involved..... (its impossible for 1 person to do it by themselves) it will also help you get familiar with the boat, and can actually be a an enjoyable project. especially knowing what the results are going to be.
a wet boat that was meant to be dry is not as much fun as it could be.....
what kind of shape are the sails and lines, in? shrouds and stays? in my opinion you should make sure ALL the necessary controls and safety issues pass inspection before you take it out on the water..... your first experience in a new-to-you boat should be enjoyable and pleasant. if you have faulty equipment, it wont be.... i hope its all fun and smiles for you and your family with your new boat....

centreline is right, good advice and here is a great link by MAINESAIL with regards to rebedding hardware. http://forums.oday.sailboatowners.com/showthread.php?t=117172
Yes and yes. Hopefully you are already aware that good old boats are a lot of good old hard and expensive work. If the boat is in poor shape, you are looking at many many hours of labor and, quiet honestly, tons of money to get her right. Worth it? If it is what you want, yes. Even my nice looking 26 needed 18 months in my back yard and around three grand to get her ship shape. And that was just the basics. What I am saying is if you have a neglected boat, you need to sit down with someone knowledgable, join a club, buy some books, watch some YouTube videos, pick our brains, browse our albums, and begin to plan. Just like you would if you were building a house. Doable? Certainly, most certainly. Simple and easy? Most certainly not!!! Expensive too.
Options?, if you can' put in the time or money, then try to trade her for a smaller boat.
