I am rebeding stanchion bolts on a 1988 Catalina 30 MkII. The forward bolts on the starboard stanchion above the electrical panel cannot be accessed due a moulded fibreglass "box" for the electrical panel. Does anyone have experience in accessing these stanchion bolts and can you provide me with advice on how I might get them out then back again. I would appreciate any advice.

Me Too!

I await the same answer from someone as well on the subject. The stanchions on the Mark II and onto the newer models are absolutely horrible!! They are not thru bolted and supported as most better set ups are and those who mange to apply body weight against them for boarding wind up with cracks and a weak gunnel over time. I complained at the last boat show to several Catalina dealers about the poor design and they agreed. Rebedding with 5200 may be the only answer. Bob '88 Cat 30
