Before I call out the canvas guy, I want to make sure I have the right plan for my H-30. I'm considering replacing the sail cover with a stack pack. I have lazy jacks, which seem to get hung up on the battens when raising, and I sail mostly single handed. I noticed they use stack packs a lot on bareboat charters, but have never used one. Does anyone have any opinions and support based on experience?

Go to Ask a Sailor [all sailboats]

There is a discussion about these on another Forum. Check it out. We have the same problem with our Hunter 33 - the battens get hung up in the lazy jacks. When we replace the main sail, we will probably go with the stack pack.

Thanks Sausalito

Ah, Sausalito! I grew up in Marin and sailed small boats at China Camp Beach. Good to hear from home :) I'll look in all sailboats.

Check out the Mack Pack from . . .

Mack Sails in Stewart, Florida. They have a similar setup to the Stack Pack, just as good quality, works very well, but less expensive. I've had one three years and love it.

StackPacks

Have you spoken with your local Doyle loft about the StackPack? I'm sure they must have clients in the area that you could talk to or see their boats
