Hi Brian and others;5 years ago, I removed the bowsprit from my 1996 Catalina 30 MKIII. I shortened the roller furling and headstay 4.72 inches and used a Sta-lock terminal at the masthead on the shortened forestay. This was done to get the boat into the allowable under 30 ft. rule in my marina. (Catalina 30 without bowsprit is officially 29'11")My question is other than an external visual inspection each year, should I be doing any thing else to the Sta-Lok, like disassembleing it, for inspection? We sail in Northern Lk Michigan, so all fresh water. Boat is stored inside, mast down during our winters. I followed the instructions on the Sta-loc terminal for installation using the thread lock and silicone. Thanks in advance for the helpFair windsDave
