Pulled into St. Augustine this morning fairly early. We had laid over a day in Fernandina because the forecast was for gale force winds, rain and of course more cold. The rain didn't happen too much but the wind and cold did. We are at the Conch House Marina in St. Augustine tonight. Pretty nice marina, but a little on the pricey side. Spent the day in St.Augustine visiting with Lois's sister and brother in law, did some shopping and had to do some routine stuff on the boat. You know, like battery water, tighten belts, etc. Also had a water hose between raw water pump and engine dripping, so replaced that. Heading out in the morning, hopefully will manage to get enough south to miss another storm system that is supposed to develope and move into this area on Mon. or Tues. It is getting harder and harder to get up in the morning and take off when the temp. is in the low or mid forties. Sometimes in the upper thirties. I want to thank everyone who provided info. about the Okeechobee. We still don't know for sure which way we will go. Okeechobee is first choice, as we are both about ready to get home. Will depend on conditions there. Calls going out the first of the week to find out about depth and getting under the bridge. Right now it is looking iffy on getting through there. It takes 56' to clear the antenna, so we are right on the margin. Not sure I want to try it, being that close. The bridge at Ft. Meyers is listed at 55', and there is about a foot of tide there, maybe one and a half, so it wil also be a squeeze.
