I sure miss my old Roberts auto & Navik. Anyways, my ST 4000 is acting up. All the setting are the standard what everyone else is using on the 320 list.

Calibration Lock OFF
Pilot Type 4000whl
Rudder Gain 2
Response 2
Turn Rate Limit 20
Align Rudder 0
Rudder Limit 20
Off Course Alarm 20
AutoTack 100
AutoTrim 3
Drive Type 2
Variation 0
AutoAdapt nth
Latitude The correct latitude for the location of the boat.
Rudder Damp 4
Cruise Speed A

My ST 4000 is networked up to the B&G equipment. I am not using the GPS or the wind vane mode. The auto seem to be over powering itself (very jerky moments) and turning too starboard after a few seconds. I have gone through all the connection and the compass is working fine. I’ll check the ground wires this next weekend.
Any other idea out there? HELP? Thanks JOHN

Sorry to here of you problems, I have some setting for boats with less than two full turns in their wheels, not sure if this would apply to your situation or not.
Gain: 2
Response: 2
Drive type: 2
Autotrim: 2

Check the drive type

I'm working from memory here, as I no longer have an ST4000, buy seems to me that the correct drive setting for a wheel drive is 1 not 2.

Nice N Easy, your absolutly right. But by changing it to drive type 2, I think it slows some of the jerkyness in the response. Give it a try, if it doesn't work, go back to the factory settings.
