SR Mariner LK Knotmeter Replacement

My knotmeter has not worked in the 3 years I've owned the boat. Is there a recommended replacement? I have the SR Mariner KL unit. Probably the transducer is shot. I took it out last year and cleared the barnacles, but when I gave it a spin I got no response from the meter. Any suggestions or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

You can call SR Mariner at 1-800-654-6360 EXT 109 and speak to Correy. He is the service manager for this Knot Meter. I replaced the transducer about two years ago and SR mariner was supporting these units as long as they had spare parts.

SR Instruments no longer sell their product, but Corey says he still will repair existing units for now. He is a very helpful fellow.

I just pulled the SR Knot Meter out of my H27. I replaced it with a GPS.

I have a GPS and use it all the time, but I sail and race in the James and Pagan rivers, where there are significant currents. It would be handy to have speed through the water so I could search out favorable currents.

I did look at the Raymarine ST 40 one of the guys @ the repair yard said it would fit the same through hull opening as the SR Mariner...

Thanks Jimboyyy. If I can't get this thing fixed I'll probably go that route. I'll have to put it on my Christmas List. I bet the Admiral will go for that.
