Hi,

Quick question - the knotmeter has a three wire system...red, black, green. Just want to make sure that I have it hooked up correctly! Red to panel? or battery? Black - ground to buspar? Green to ????

Thanks alot!

Do you have a photo of the unit? Also, are you talking about the transducer or the display head? Most knotmeters have a transducer in the hull and they are wired to a display head, which usually provides them with power and receives the signal from them. One of the wires may be a signal wire so that the knotmeter could interface with a wind instrument. Have you tried running it with just the red and black wires, which are traditionally power and ground, connected??

I'll get a photo for you but here's how the wiring is...the transducer is wired to the display head, then the wire from the display head is attached to the panel. I have not tried just the red & black wire. Someone mentioned that the red goes to the knotmeter switch, the green might be the knotmeter light, & the black he wasn't sure.
