Hi again. I have a DDM 1 on my boat, and the LCD display is looking rather bad, though I haven't plugged it in to see if the thing actually works still. I have the Transducer with me, took it and the depth sounder out. I want to test to see if it works with my 2A 12V trickle charger just to see if it works. I think I'll send it in and get the display replaced, unless the cost is prohibitive. That is assuming everything works.

Hi Wayne, I did exactly the same thing with the same company. They tested both pieces and replaced the glass and bezel on the meter. If it doesn't work or isn't worth replacing they will offer you a new one at 50 percent off. I had mine repair and I think the cost was 100 bucks including the glass and bezel. Good luck, Jack

At 1-800-654-6360 and ask for Correy. He's an instrument repair guy and will work with you. He's honest, reasonable, and will not load you up with unnecessary charges. I've had all (4) SR Instruments reworked on my boat over the past few years and am totally satisfied with Correy and his service.
