I have a 1987 Catalina 30 with a squeaky floor just to starboard of the stairs on the cabin sole. Apparently the sole is moving independently from the hull. I am sure I don't have the only boat with this problem. Has anybody had any experience with this issue? There is very little room between the sole and the hull and it would be quite difficult to adequately clean the area and apply epoxy or resin.

I had that

I had the same problem. With mine it was the door to access the engine. The latch was squeaking as it moved caused by walking on the sole near it. A shot of WD40 and it was gone.

mine to

That is anasty noise mine was nice and stiff untill my marina droped my boat and cradle and now it sounds like broken glass moveing up and down I was glad I had only miner damage to the cradle and boat. The noise was not so bad in the water. but what I did is I driled small holes under the floor between the 2x4 and the bottom ofthe floor and shot some epoxey in there .Then I ran som ss counter sunk wood screws from the floof to the 2x4 and Its stiff again If you need to glass it to the hull then you can get small steal ball grinders that go in a drill ,dremil or grinder. They are about 1" round.
