Squall in Beaulieu

I made a rather short 13 mile run around to this creek just off the Vernon River to await scattered thunderstorms and rain.

The forecast turned into a solid squall line running all the way down to the Gulf of Mexico with tornado warnings which made watching the gathering clouds more interesting. Didn't see a single flash or hear a rumble of thunder but the boat did heel about 20 degrees shortly after these pictures were taken.

All quiet now. I held position but the boat behind me is a bit farther away. The boat in the last picture lost its Bimini top.

Very interesting. I keep my second anchor rode in a five gallon bucket which I had lashed on the foredeck with about half of the rode out. It rained hard, there was plenty of water in the dinghy.

I went up and turned the bucket over, keeping my hand on the coils so they wouldn't fall out. No water came out and the rope was hardly damp. It was blowing so hard the rain went right over the top of the bucket with almost none getting in.

Good pictures of what looks like a classic day in August.. about 4 PM on the Pontchartrain..

own radar?

Satellite images show the rougher
weather going south of Jacksonville.

And this Christmas lady, the fellow from
Asheville, North Carolina, who is looking
for a lady. Is she eligible for him?

Woman ads on the internet? Let us see,
blond, six foot and 300 lbs?
