Spurs marine line cutter - Pros and Cons

After tangling with a dockline and being placed on the beach. I was wondering about installing a Spurs line cutter on my prop. I'm open to any arguments for or against. Comments anyone? BTW, Talking to the marinia, on July 8, a Hunter 35.5 came in with the same problem but only worse than mine. They said he tangled with a crab pot line. Jim S/V Java

I bought one.

Actually it was the competition. You know, they tried to make it better. It had serrated teeth to better part the snagged line. It might have worked once off the coast of Mexico. We heard a thunk in the middle of the night. But other than that one time, any line into the prop, fowled it. Even poly 1/4" crab pot line. I took it off during our rebuild. Spend your money on a dive mask. Much more reliable.
