Recently aquired an older model Sprite 10'. Would appreciate any info on rigging, a mast (wood?), sail size. Hull has two mast sockets, which leads me to believe it is an earlier model like maybe '60-'65. Some of those did have a wood mast. That being said, I do have an aluminum boom. Did these have an aluminum boom with a wood mast?

You say your boat has "two mast sockets", do you mean that there are 2 teardrop-shaped "sockets" molded into the sort-of box like "inner keel" that links the CB trunk and the forward seat-tank? If so, then this boat was originally equipped with an aluminum mast, if the boom you have is original, then that is also a clue that the boat originally had an aluminum mast. The oldest SPRITEs that came with wooden masts also had wood booms. You could still build a wooden mast if you wish to take on that challenge, look at some old DIY boat plan books for a similar size mast and get started (dimensions can be altered to fit if needed). However, any good sparmaker could build you a new aluminum mast, if they have the specs. Rudy at D&R Marine may have the specs to build you a mast, but shipping can get expensive for long items like spars. Rudy may be able to get the sail and spar dimensions from his O'Day archive, but I'm not sure he has info that goes back that far.
The Sprite was originally designed by Robert Baker and plans for the boat are available from his estate, the design was not orignally called "SPRITE", but was instead refered to as "SPIRIT". The plans ($39.00) will include sailplan.
