The calander says today is the 1st day of Spring, but we use a different measure around my house. Yesterday I was taking my trailer bearings apart for inspection, and was treated to the weird warbling cry of the sandhill crane - the true harbinger of spring around here. And one day early too!:D What signifies spring around your place?

Daffodils... my wife's favorite flower in the springtime... :) For me, it is when the boat gets splashed.

When the skunk cabbage in the swamp blossoms and when the frogs start to lay eggs. The geese started their migration last week with the full moon. When I drive past a field with four or five hundred geese ganged together for a couple of weeks and then one day I see large flocks at five to ten thousand feet all heading north and the flocks in the fields are gone, I know it is springtime in Maryland.

Ross, skunk cabbage. Used to love smacking that stuff with a stick just to gross the others out:)

Ross, it always paid to be a fast runner. That would you could do unto others before they did unto you :)

Randy, I know where you are coming from. Spring around here is when we typically get our BIG snow storms. I love the return of the cranes, but the tarp is still on the boat and the chains are still on the plow truck.

You don't even have to be the fastest runner... as long as you can trip the guy in front of you.

Being sneaky and looking innocent is a lot more fun. I think I am going to plant potatoes this afternoon.
