You will never have another day off once you retire but the guy you work for understands the need for afternoon naps. Enjoy.

Ward... Oh, Ward... When I have company down to share my beach rental time every year, I tell them to watch their language. We DO NOT use the word "schedule".

Congratulations! Now you can take the time for a cruise to the Chesapeake. We will keep a cold bottle of champagne ready for you.

Congrats Ward and enjoy your time on your time! My blue book has a long list and since ever time I plan to bang out items it takes 2x as long as I have it probably will stay long for awhile.

Way to go Ward. Looks like you have a self ending schedule of priorities. It is the journey not the end. A nice accomplishment.
Fair winds.

Thanks everyone. One reason we started sailing in 2012 was to see if it was a hobby that we would enjoy and keep us active in retirement. We are really looking forward to it.

Good for you Ward. I believe sailing keeps you fit longer. Many of my friends in our club are retired. I just wish it were me :(

@John Tubb It is called the Rule Of Threes.
Plan your budget, man hours and tools needed to do a job. Multiply that by 3.
I had to adjust that calculation due to living 1 1/2 hours from the boat. For every 3 jobs I add 3 hours of manpower for the traveling time when I forget all the tools.

I like that Ward, heading down tomorrow with my daughter for dock side stuff. She was really wanting to clean the boat better and while we were out was working on the cabin. My goal tomorrow is check electrical, install port side chain plate backer and fix those rubbing life lines.

I'm an hour from my house or 30 min from work. So best bet is work half day and take off for the boat!

I'm right behind you. My retirement date is July 31. By August 1 I'll be heading for the land of 10,000 Lakes.
