I've got a perfectly good Schaefer Type 2 large diameter line rope clutch (quad) where one of the torsion springs has apparently broken. The clutch appears to be held together by nuts and bolts, so it's likely fairly easy to dissassemble, etc.
RigRite still lists these clutches but does not show/list that they have just the springs available for sale (but I have not called them yet to confirm one way or the other). Seems such a waste to have to replace this whole piece of otherwise good hardware simply for want of what is likely a spring that costs only pennies to make but doesn't seem to be commercially available as a repair/replacement part for a clutch no longer made. Anyone have a source for these springs? Or an old clutch with springs intact that you might want to sell me for the parts?
