"Spring Projects" are projects that may be done in the Spring up until the earliest day the boat can be launched, after which they are "not necessary to sail" or "next Spring projects."

I agree, Danm. The obvious finally occurred to me: Instead of making a list of projects for when the weather turns warm, I'm doing the projects now so I can sail when the weather turns warm. Maybe this year the boat won't stayed tied up to the dock for most of the years as it has in the past.

My Spring projects are done, went into the water Monday! It's time to go sailing!

I'm surprised in your blog you say the the new motor sticks in the water "less", instead of not at all. I wouldn't think that an outboard couldn't be raised out completely and get rid of all the drag. My Mac's 9.9 Merc tilted up almost 90 degrees to clear the water and rudder. The best we could do with an inboard is a folding or feathering prop. A PO already took care of it.

When racing as per the rules, we cannot tilt our outboards. Only on an up and down motor mount or you can also take them on and off and set them below. That has a bit of a PITA factor for me so I went with the new mount. Yes, of course on an inboard you would use a folding prop.

I didn't know it was a race rule. Makes sense that you wouldn't want it sticking out and cause an accident with another boat.

I've had the same "do next year" jobs on my list for about ten years now.

I probably would too if I lived closer and kept my boat in the water. As it is I only get to the water two or three times a year and my projects give me an excuse to spend time on my boat.
