I am thinking of having the bottom painted on my 34 this spring. When I pulled the boat last year, just prior to purchasing it, everything looked ok to me. What are the signs that I need repaint the bottom. Approximately how long should the botton paint last in fresh water. Thanks, Jim

Mine used to last several years in fresh water
Now I moor in brackish water and it is hellish for growth of all kinds - barnacles as well as grass. I flavored my bottom paint last summer with cayenne pepper per instructions from a friend to the south. He swears it will help. I will keep you posted. If you can see the color of the paint and there is not a lot of stuff growing on the bottom, it is probably ok unless you are racing or just picky.
