Engine update: Jim hit it right. The pic I posted above really is not (thankfully) my engine.... Yet, someone who really had that frozen engine posted that pic here some years ago and asked for advice. I believe that, in the end, he melted the ice away with a hair dryer, changed the oil, squirted some lubricating oil into the cylinders -- and the engine fired right up. We were all pretty happy for him.
Hope you all are making your (spring maintenance) lists and checking them twice. Gets longer every time you do it. Yet, I always look forward to getting started on the actual chores.... and getting the boat back into its (and my) natural environment. My first sail of the season makes me thankful for a lot of stuff....
