Spring Lines.... Help

I have an O-Day 34 and would like some advice on where you guys tie your spring lines. My boat does not have any cleats in the center. I’m not sure if the boat came with cleats in the center to tie spring lines Any recommend would be appreciated.Thank you.Kenneth Seace

Spring Lines

I tie my spring lines to a mid slip cleat on the dock and run the lines fore and aft to the boat. The spring line running to the bow I use the same cleat as the bow line and run it through the chock on deck. The stern line I run to the sheet cleat behind the winch. You can get a cleat for the jib sheet lead track but then the lines will chafe on the teak toerail cap and wear out the wood (very quickly). My system seems to work ok but I agree I would prefer a mid ship cleat.Dave

Mid-ship cleat on track

I have a cleat on both jib sheet lead tracks, and use them for spring lines. The port side is used regularly in the slip. I have not had a problem with chafe on the teak tow rail that Dave mentions above.Ed.
