Spring is in the air, getting to know my Pearson 30

Hello everyone, since the weather is getting better, I just spent the last 2 hours getting to know my new to me boat and I have a few questions, there is a crank on the underside of the boom about 5 feet from the gooseneck, any idea on what it is for?
There are a few moveable blocks on the boom as well, probably for reefing lines?
I know I need to replace the sheaves, any idea on where I could get those?
The PO installed a flexible holding tank, but I need to replace all the hoses even though he never used the new head and tank, look at what hose he used. I will get some real sanitation hoses, and he didn’t even double clamp them
at least I’m working with clean hoses.

We owned a 1971 Pearson 30 named "Yare" as our first cruising boat.We sailed her from Nantucket to Long Island.A really great boat.We owned bigger boats later but never a boat who sailed like Yare. Great memories.
I believe the crank under the boom is for the clew outhaul. It may no longer work though.
Blocks on the boom are probably reef points. You can see better when you bend on the mains'l.

The blocks on the sliding track are for slab reefing. With the three blocks the sail (or a previous sail) had 3 reef points. You'll probably only need 1 reef point.

I have no idea what the crank is for, perhaps for an outhaul or part of the reefing system?

Don't show @Peggie Hall HeadMistress those hoses. It may cause her blood pressure to rise. ;) That is a recipe for unpleasant head smells shortly after its first use.

Too late, I've seen those hoses...at least he's already planning to replace 'em.. Go with Raritan SaniFlex...Not cheap, but has a 10 yr warranty against odor permeation and is so flexible it can be bent almost as tight as a hairpin without kinking.
I'm trying to figure out what the black hose is and why there's a cap on it...it doesn't appear to be a part of the sanitation system. The flexible holding tank didn't warm my heart either. If those hoses are any indication, the PO went for the cheapest one of those too, and it doesn't appear to be very well secured either. 'Twould be smart to plan on replacing it with a rigid plastic tank within a year or two.

No idea on what the black hose is either, the plumbing is pretty wacky on the boat
Any specific makes to look for?

I wouldn't trust a black water tank that has duct tape on it. It looks like you have pretty good access to that area, buy the biggest poly tank you can fit and chuck the bladder tank. Many years ago I bought a holding tank for my previous boat from https://www.plastic-mart.com/ and had no problems or smell after 10 years.
I just replaced my hoses last year with Trident 101 and 102. Two different colours because of the different locations for the in/out hoses. I could not find a reasonable price for the SaniFlex hose in Canada and I didn't need tight bends. My understanding is the performance of the Trident 101/102 is similar to the SaniFlex but it is much stiffer - Peggy can correct me if I'm wrong on this.

There isn’t tape on the flexible tank, after inspection, it’s the manufacturer’s label. Just removed the cheap hoses, going to go buy some sanitation hoses tomorrow, found out what the black hose is, it was a clear water hose, but now turned black with mold. There is a small water tank under the v-berth, and I’ve been told there is one under the port setee.
