the temp here in massachussetts today was 65. i took off the winter cover. took the dingy out to the harbor and checked the mooring its still there. filled a few holes in the coaming from where the old cleat was mounted for the roller furling. ill be mounting the new cam cleat on the cabin top tommorow if the weather holds out.mounted my weater instruments in the cabin. just a great day

Getting antsy

Yup, here on the riparian coast we've started the semi-weekly oscillation between winter and summer that we call "Spring". I went to the yard today and paid the bill so as soon as there's a break in the weather we can launch. Only one more thing to do, check the chest waders for leaks -- the air warms up a lot quicker than the water!

We had a big blow come through here last night with high gusty winds and dropping temps. But yes, it won't be long now. What kind of cam cleats are you installing and for what purpose? Gib sheet control or replacement of the original pinch cleat. Bob

cam cleats

my boat came with roller furling. the cleat was of the conventional type and was mounted on the coaming. i am going to mount a cam cleat on the cabin top for the furler line. i am also going to mount cam cleats for the jib im going to mount them on the vertical cabin side right below the winch am also installing a halyard for my new cruising chute,blocks for the spin sheets cam cleats for the spin sheets(on the coaming)another orginizer on the port side and lazy jacks i think i better get busy ive got lots to do
