Spring 2022 Finally Launched

After an absolutely dismal spring here in Southern Michigan our Sapphire was finally completed and launched yesterday, got the sails up moved the boat to your slip just before yet another front came through, supposed to be a great weather weekend of which I am looking forward to sailing once again.

I splashed my O’Day 322 around April 7…snowed a few days .after ;-(

Has been a pretty poor sailing season so far. I have tested my skills in 45 F, 30 knot winds and 4-6 foot seas one day just to get out on the water…

But Monday looks promising at the south end of Lake Michigan.

@Tally Ho South end of Lake Michigan with a breeze coming in from the North makes for an extreemly interesting, possibly unnerving, definitely cold sailing day. But hey I proud of you for getting out there that early, this is the latest I have ever launched, being on the South end of Lake Huron when the winds blow from the North its almost impossible to wax, or stay warm for that matter.
Heres the other one we launched yesterday, too windy today to plant the pole......

She looks fast!

my forecast for tomorrow afternoon looks a bit rough…can’t sail Saturday or Sunday, so was hoping to get out late tomorrow afternoon…but that darn North wind is going to be tough.

But Monday looks promising ;-)
