spreaders

hi group,
whe i was tending to some cracks on my spreader hinges i noticed that
my spreader tubes are two different lengths.i thin one must have been
replaced. does anyone know what the length, not including the mast
attatchment, of the tubes should be? thanks.

I have noticed in "vega images" on google that some vega spreaders are 90 degrees to the mast and others are not mine are in a v noticably why the diference? in looking around the harbors i see boats bothg ways.

Frank,
the upward tilted ones are correct.
You want the angles from the spreader arm to the stainless wire to be the same just above and below the spreader. So that ends up making you tilt the spreader upwards a bit.

forgot... makes the force purely down the arm of the spreader which it can handle. as opposed to forces that can twist the spreader arm where it is structuraly weak.
